October     2015  -    Dates announced for 2016 Walking Festival, 23rd to 25th September.
festSeptember  2015 -     Seventh annual Walking Festival held with record bookings.
September   2015 -     Second edition of the Buggy Route leaflet published with financial assistance from Herefordshire Ramblers. Plans announced to seek funding for an extension of the Route with a new ramp  by Wilton Bridge and a tarmac path from the Bridge to the Wye Street canoe launch.

August  2015 -    Delegation from the Japan Footpaths Association visits Ross as part of a tour arranged by the governing body of Walkers are Welcome.loop
April 2015  -    A grant from Bridstow Parish Council enabled the Group to print a leaflet for the Peterstow-Bridstow Loop Walk.
December  2014  -    Grant obtained from the Wye Valley AONB to finance two gates in Peterstow and Bridstow enabled the creation of an easy 2.5 miles loop walk.
January   2014 -     New website launched to promote the Walking Festival including the facility to book online.
November  2013 -  Second edition of the Bus Walks leaflet published, again sponsored by Stagecoach.
January     2013  -    Grant obtained from the VITAL Herefordshire LEADER programme to finance the installation of 9 gates on the Wye Valley Walk north of Ross and 2 on the Bus Walk candofrom Weston-under- Penyard to Ross. Second phase of ‘Smiles without Stiles’ completed by the Can-Do-Crew in February 2013.con
October  2012   -   National Conference of the governing body of Walkers are Welcome held at the Larruperz Centre.
December  2011   -    Grant obtained from Severn Waste Environmental Fund to finance the installation of 13 gates on the Wye Valley Walk south of Ross. This first phase of ‘Smiles without Stiles’ was completed in November 2012 with all the gates installed by the Can-Do-Crew of Enviroability.
December  2010  -    Approval obtained from Amey Herefordshire for “This way to Ross-on-Wye” waymarks to be installed on over 60 miles of footpaths leading into Ross. Whilst installing the waymarks the opportunity was taken to record the location of all stiles with a view to their later replacement by gates (The Smiles without Stiles project).
December  2010  -    Area Footpath Map published, sponsored by the Wye Valley Brewery.
February  2010   -   Ross Street Map published aided by a grant from the Wye Valley AONB.
November  2009  -    First edition of the Buggy Route leaflet published with financial assistance from Ross Ramblers.
dogNovember 2009    -   Ben the Labrador, the Group’s Director of Canine Affairs, publishes his Guide to Dog-friendly Walks.
October  2009  -    First edition of Bus Walks leaflet published, sponsored by Stagecoach.
September  2009   -    Ross Buggy Route completed following major work by Herefordshire Council and the Wye Valley AONB.
September 2009    -   First Walking Festival held.
July  2009  -    Ross is accredited as a Walkers are Welcome town.
February 2009   -   Steering Group formed to obtain and maintain accreditation of Ross-on-Wye as a Walkers are Welcome town. Grants from Ross-on-Wye Town Council and the Wye Valley AONB backed by  generous business sponsorship set the Group on its way.
